Software v2.8.0 released

I’m happy to announce that a new release of the IPbus software suite (i.e. uHAL library and the ControlHub) is now available!

From this release, Python bindings RPMs for newer Python versions are included in our YUM repositories (Python 3.4 and 3.6 for CentOS7, Python 3.8 for CentOS8) in addition to the existing supported Python versions. Amongst other changes, we have also updated the code to make use of C++11 features, and dropped support for SLC6. The full list of changes can be found in the release notes, here.

N.B. This release is API compatible, but ABI incompatible, with the last software release (v2.7.9) - i.e. end-users will have to recompile their C++ source code after installing the new version.
